have you considered?

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved” (John 3:16-17).

There is so much information floating around these days about what’s real and what’s not real. It has even obscured humanity's views about eternity. We know at some point we must all leave the earth. The earth has a 100% death rate. The question is, where will we go when we leave? Well, this depends on a decision we make from our hearts. It’s a decision that can be made at this very moment.

Here are four irrefutable facts to help with your decision:

1.  There is a Real God who loves you – “For God so loved the world…”

God is not a fictitious cosmic character. He is very real and has thoughts, feelings, and an eternal will. He is the Creator. He is the Almighty. He is eternal, having no beginning or ending. He knows absolutely everything about you. He created you and loves you unconditionally. He is calling to you at this very moment to commit your life to Him.

2.  There is a Real Condition – “….should not perish..”

The word perish has a very serious meaning. It means eternal death and being separated from God forever. Mankind has a sin condition. In the beginning of time, a decision was made by man to disobey and sin against God. Now sin has perpetuated through every generation. You can clearly see sin in the world today and the presence of evil. Genesis chapters 1-3 provides a thorough explanation of how mankind has arrived at this point.

3.  There is a Real Savior – “…He gave His only begotten Son…”

The remedy to our sin condition is God’s only begotten Son, Jesus Christ. He is God’s gift to you. “For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved”. Sin and the consequence of eternal death (perishing) entered the world through a choice; and it can be solved with a choice. You have the opportunity to receive the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ. God has provided the way back to Him. Now, the decision is yours.

4.  There is a Real Heaven – “…But have everlasting life”

The result of accepting, believing, and living for God’s gift, Jesus Christ, is everlasting life. It’s hard to imagine living forever in a completely new body without aging, becoming sick, suffering, or ever again experiencing the effects of sin and evil; but it’s a reality. It’s a promise God made for receiving His wonderful gift—the giving of His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ. Heaven is a real place that’s described throughout the bible. God wants you there with Him to the extent that He offered His Son as the ultimate sacrifice.

What’s the next step?

To receive the wonderful gift of Jesus Christ and inherit eternal life, it’s all about opening your heart to repent, believe, accept, and follow Him. Let’s get started... Pray these words aloud:

Dear God, I come to you opening my heart and acknowledging my need for salvation. I repent of my sins. I believe that you have sent your only begotten Son, Jesus Christ to die for my sins and resurrect from the grave. I accept and invite you into my heart, Jesus, and ask you to save me. I dedicate my life to follow and live for you, Jesus! Thank you for saving me and giving me eternal life! (Romans 10:9-10).

Do you feel the peace in your heart? The weight of trying to live life on your own has been lifted. This doesn’t mean that you will never have any more challenges, trials, or temptations. That part of your life hasn’t disappeared. So often, we think that by receiving Jesus Christ, things around us will change for the better. The truth is, it’s not so much about the things around you changing for the better, but rather YOU have decided to change for the better! In addition, you have help because Jesus will be with you every step of the way. You will no longer be alone or have to face life on your own.

One magnificent way that you can learn more about Jesus, receive guidance in your new Christian walk, and be surrounded by help during challenging moments is to connect with devoted followers of Christ. This is what makes the church important and necessary for discipleship. The church, as recorded in the bible, is a beautiful gathering of God’s people for the purpose of fellowship, worship, learning, and bonding in Christ. It is vital that you learn more about what it means to live for Christ, and the good news is, you don’t have to try and achieve this on your own.
